It’s doing it is an online group exhibition of computer generated images that autonomously updates on a daily basis over the course of 45 days. All of the works in the show are instruction-based artworks expressed through computer programs written by the artists. These programs generate new images once daily that can be viewed on the website. Each instantiation of the show, while being similar to the previous and following ones, is unique, emphasizing the expressive, data-driven, and intelligent possibilities of randomness for art creation in the context of the digital. Previous iterations of each artwork can be seen by changing the date in the top right of this page. Follow us on Twitter to get a daily update of all the newly generated images throughout the duration of the show.

Attachment, A Poetic Way To Communicate
Attachment is a website, a machine, a trip and You. Thanks to a poetic machine connected to this website, you can send messages, images, or videos through a biodegradable balloon in the air. This machine prints your message and a code on a sheet A6, slips it into a biopolymer cylinder attached to a balloon, which is finally released into the air. Then, the balloon will travel haphazardly to a potential recipient.

The Oliver Ranch
Located in the heart of Sonoma County, 70 miles north of San Francisco, and known internationally for its wineries and scenic pleasures, the Oliver Ranch is home to 18 remarkable site-specific installations; the most recent of which is Ann Hamilton's The tower where commissioned dance, poetry, theatre, and music performances take place. The picturesque 100-acre property was originally bought by Steve and Nancy Oliver in 1981 to graze a few extra sheep from, as Steve says, “My daughter’s 4-H project gone bad.” The ranch’s evolution from exiled sheep quarters to world-renowned sculpture ranch was gradual and organic, a natural convergence of the Olivers' longstanding passion for art and deep connection to the land.
